This is the official blog of the Tun Ismail Ali Chair (TIAC) which was founded in the memory of Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) first Malaysian Governor, the late Tun Ismail Mohamed Ali.
The purpose of TIAC and ergo this blog is to encourage and stimulate research, commentary and public interaction into monetary and financial policy issues that affect Malaysia and the rest of the world.
The blog also seeks to be an invaluable resource for university students studying economics and anyone who is interested in the workings of monetary policy be it academics, professionals and even novices to this field.
Articles are contributed by TIAC Chairholder, academics, researchers, private sector economists and last but not least – Bank Negara economists. Articles in this blog will be focused on monetary and financial economics, and will be updated so as to keep up abreast with the latest developments in the field.
The articles are published to elicit comments and to further debate. Any views expressed are solely those of the author(s) and so cannot be taken to represent those of the Bank Negara Malaysia. This blog should therefore not be reported as representing the views of the Bank Negara Malaysia.
We do hope that you find this blog immensely useful and enjoyable to read. Should you want to get in touch with us, please email us at tiac@bnm.gov.my.
